Sophie received an extraordinary commission to draw the most important buildings within all the twenty five wards of the City of London. These were to be presented to the Aldermen and High Officers of the Corporation of London by the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The majority of these buildings were churches, many of which were either bold and beautiful like St Paul's, or tucked away down little alleyways. They also included Mansion House, the Old Bailey, Guildhall, Leadenhall and Old Billingsgate Markets.
